Anything below $25/unit is usually a contractor cutting corners on time spent. Anything above $100/unit for general servicing is overcharging unless additional work is involved.
Chemical wash: $90–$160 per indoor unit
The unit is dismantled and the evaporator coil is soaked in a chemical solution to dissolve embedded biofilm. This takes 1.5–2.5 hours per unit and is typically needed every 12–24 months even with disciplined quarterly servicing. Expect $270–$480 for a System 3 home's full chemical wash.
Chemical overhaul: $200–$350 per indoor unit
